Steubenville Adam Antique Earthenware Memory Plate

A set of four earthenware collector plates from the Memory Plates series, featuring historic homes of Saint Mary's County, Maryland. These plates were manufactured by the Steubenville Pottery Company of Ohio using their Adam Antique blank, which features a lobed, scalloped rim decorated with an embossed pattern of floral scrolls and urns. The central decoration consists of a black transfer-printed architectural scene on a cream-colored ground. A secondary black oval mark identifies the series as Lucile S. Piper MEMORY PLATES P.O. BOX 733 CINCINNATI, OHIO. Detailed historical transcriptions regarding the land patents and building dates are printed on the back of each piece.Diameter: 10 1/2 inchesThe plates are in good overall vintage condition. All pieces exhibit extensive, fine all-over crazing to the glaze surface. The Mulberry Fields plate shows a small, yellowish-brown stain on the reverse near the manufacturer mark. There is minor shelf wear present on the foot rims of all four plates. No visible chips, cracks, or professional repairs were observed.
