A set of four dinner plates in the Old New England pattern, manufactured by Wedgwood for the Thomas Long Company. These creamware plates feature green transfer-printed central medallions depicting historical landmarks. The underside of each plate bears a central printed crest with the motto SAPIENTER SI SINCERE above the text Made Exclusively for Thomas Long Company. Each scene is accompanied by a printed historical description. Additional marks include two circular stamps reading of ETRURIA / WEDGWOOD / MADE IN / ENGLAND / & BARLASTON and ENGRAVED BY THE WEDGWOOD STUDIOS. Impressed marks read WEDGWOOD alongside date codes 7 K 59, 8 X 59, 10 X 59, and 11 X 59.Diameter: 10.5 inches.The plates are in good overall vintage condition. Significant spider-web crazing is present on the reverse of the Meeting House plate. One small brown oxidation spot is visible on the reverse of the Rhode Island Homestead plate. The surfaces exhibit light scratches consistent with occasional use and typical shelf wear to the foot rims. There are no visible chips, cracks, or professional repairs.
