WWII German K98 S84/98 III bayonet manufactured in 1944 by Alexander Coppel GmbH of Solingen, Germany. Bayonet is marked “44 fnj,” with “fnj” being the wartime manufacturer code for Alexander Coppel. Serial numbered 7665. Original steel scabbard is also marked “44 fnj” and bears matching serial number 7665, making this a desirable matching-number bayonet and scabbard set. Features grooved reddish-brown phenolic/Bakelite grip panels, blued fullered blade and steel scabbard. Includes leather bayonet frog as shown.Original untouched condition with age-related oxidation, patina, finish wear and wear to the leather frog. Blade retains considerable dark finish.
