A vintage Mid-Century Modern Flamenco Dancer figurine set glazed in a deep, glossy forest green. The male dancer on the left is striking a confident pose with both hands on his hips. He wears a traditional short jacket, vest, trousers, and a distinct flat-topped hat. His body is dynamically leaned slightly back onto his left leg. The female dancer on the right is captured mid-motion with both arms raised gracefully above her head, accentuating her hair. She is dressed in a traditional fitted bodice and a dramatic, multi-layered ruffled dress that cascades to the floor to form the figurine's wide, stable base. These highly stylized ceramic statues were popular decorative items in the 1950s and 1960s. The high-gloss glaze highlights the sharp geometric and fluid curves characteristic of the atomic era's take on traditional Spanish culture. Fair condition due to male dancer damage of a chip on hat and head was previously broken/repaired. Otherwise, in good, beautiful condition. Max dimensions are approximately 13"h x 6"w x 5 1/2"d.
