Vintage, around 1915 “cheese cutter” cash register made by the St. Louis Cash Register Company Inc. This Model 38, serial number 38021 register has a painted wood look with an actual wood base / cash drawer. This was a candy store/drug store register that did not exceed $5.00 in total purchases (this register may actually be for a lower amount total). The sale amount was set with levers for dollars and cents and then when the sale was made you pulled down on the lever to open the cash drawer. The pull-down lever was like a “cheese cutter”. Register looks to be all original with age and use wear. Missing back side flat glass section on the top part of the register. Setting the dollar and cents amounts and then pulling down the handle still opens the cash drawer. May need additional work and cleaning to work as designed. There is a lockable metal lid that lifts up on the upper part of the register. There is no key, but this lid is unlocked. Register measures 17” tall, 10” wide and 16.5” deep. *** SHIPPING DISCLAIMER: Due to the size and weight of this item, we are unable to provide in-house shipping.
