An American sterling silver baby rattle by Graff, Washbourne and Dunn featuring a bulbous hollow head and a flared bell-shaped base. The sections are decorated with intricate repousse floral blossoms, foliate scrolls, and a border of teardrop-shaped bosses. The underside of the base is impressed with the letters G, W, and D in individual cartouches alongside the word STERLING and production number 3. It measures 4 inches in length and weighs 1.065 OZT including internal contents. Surface shows scratches and scuffing, particularly on plain sections. Moderate tarnish is present within recessed decoration, consistent with age. An indentation is visible at the center of the base (photo 6).
