This pair of Whiting sterling silver serving spoons in the Lily pattern features two distinct handle styles paired with identical foliate-pierced bowls. The first is a souvenir for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition with commemorative dates on the reverse, while the second features a fleur-de-lis terminal and is monogrammed. Both stems bear an impressed mark of a bird in flight alongside the words STERLING 14. Each spoon measures 4.75 inches long and the total weight is 0.890 OZT. Both spoons exhibit surface tarnish and oxidation commensurate with age (photos 1, 5). The delicate foliate piercing in the bowls remains intact and free of breaks (photo 4, 11). Scattered light surface scratches are visible throughout.
