This is a Cold War-era East German DDR professional fire brigade peaked service cap, manufactured in 1978 for the Berufsfeuerwehr under the Ministry of the Interior (MdI). The cap features dark blue uniform cloth construction with distinctive malino-red piping around both the crown and cap band, indicating its fire brigade designation. A blue braided cord runs across the front above a glossy black visor. The silver-colored cap badge bears oak-leaf motifs and a center enamel-style emblem of the German Democratic Republic. The interior is stamped with "1855 U," “TGL 108-754 583,” “MdI,” and size “57”; the “1855” manufacturer code is linked to Roland-Mützen, while the “U” code confirms the 1978 production date. The interior includes a brown sweatband and black lining. The cap shows minor surface lint, dust, and slight handling wear, consistent with age and professional use. The visor retains its gloss, the cord is intact, and the piping and badge display well.
