Dating to the World War I era, this German 6x30 military field glass was manufactured by Ernst Leitz in Wetzlar. Upper prism cover plate markings show the framed "LEITZ WETZLAR" logo beneath recoated finish layers. An internal reticle scale (ranginggrid) is integrated into the optical system. The binoculars measure 4.5 inches high by 6.5 inches wide (11.4 cm H x 16.5 cm W) and weigh 644 grams (1 lb 6.7 oz). Constructed with brass brassing accents and metal frame elements, the unit maintains smooth central hinge pivot action and smooth individual diopter adjustments. Optical viewing remains clear with the internal reticle grid visible, though dust spotting is present across both channels. All components have been fully repainted, removing the body texture wrap. A leather neck strap remains attached, and the right eyecup exhibits a crack along its rim.
