World War II-era U.S. Army Air Forces garrison cap was issued to enlisted personnel and is constructed from olive-drab wool. Known as an overseas cap, it features intertwined ultramarine-blue and golden-orange piping distinctive to the Air Corps branch, running around the folding curtain. The interior includes an olive cotton-twill band and retains an original size label marked "Size 7 1/8," though the label is faded and frayed at the lower edge. There are no visible manufacturer, contract, or date markings present. The cap retains its form but shows scattered soiling, creasing, discoloration, and the original piping has minor fraying and loose threads, especially at the ends. The interior band has some age-related staining, consistent with prolonged storage and use during the period.
