This four-volume reference set titled Handbuch der neuzeitlichen Wehrwissenschaften (Handbook of Modern Military Sciences) was edited by Generalmajor Hermann Franke and published in Berlin and Leipzig by Verlag von Walter de Gruyter & Co. between 1936 and 1939. The volumes cover military strategy, defense policy, the Army (Das Heer), the Navy (Die Kriegsmarine), and the Air Force (Die Luftwaffe). Bound in tan cloth with red-printed Fraktur lettering along the spines and front covers, the set features technical illustrations, fold-out maps, charts, and diagrams. The cloth bindings exhibit edge wear, corner fraying, spine discoloration, and water staining to the boards, while interior pages display light age toning with intact text blocks.
