This complete portfolio contains all 20 original plates—16 in color reproducing paintings and 4 in black-and-white reproducing sculptures—issued for the 1943 Grosse Deutsche Kunstausstellung held at the Haus der Deutschen Kunst in Munich. The portfolio is published by Verlag Heinrich Hoffmann, with each plate measuring approximately 16 by 12 inches. Artists represented include Rudolf Lipus, Willy Kriegel, Sepp Hilz, and others, featuring works shown in the state-sponsored exhibition during World War II. The folder displays period correct typography and design, with the binding on the left edge beginning to loosen and some light foxing to the plates, but overall the set remains in good condition. Historically, these portfolios provided access to contemporary German art as promoted by the regime. This lot presents a full suite of its original contents, as issued. This measures 19.75 x 16 inches. GE/SW
