German Infantry Personal Photo Album 1937-1942

Cream-colored spiral-bound album with distinctive geometric pattern on the covers, documenting the service of a German infantryman from 1937 to 1942. The album comprises a comprehensive photographic record, beginning with early service at the Fürthgarrison, followed by group scenes and depictions of daily routine, musical gatherings, and leisure activities of military personnel. Notable are images relating to the construction and use of the Autobahn near Liegnitz, as well as photographs of deployment on the Russian front in 1942. Handwritten captions in German throughout provide context to each section. Album measures approximately 11 by 9 inches. There is minor soiling to the cover and some staining to internal pages. This album presents a continuous five-year record, illustrating transit routes and the shift from Western to Eastern duties within the period of the Third Reich.
