An oil on board pastoral landscape by Max Steigleder featuring a shepherd and his flock at a watering hole. The scene is set against vibrant autumnal foliage and a distant village. The work is signed Steigleder in the lower right corner. It is housed in a substantial burl wood veneer frame with a gilded inner beaded border. Surface shows minor dust and light reflections on the varnish. The support board reverse has light scuffing and staining. The frame exhibits minor nicks and wear consistent with age and typical handling.
