This framed oil painting on board depicts five children seated and playing with blocks. The composition is executed in a loose, impressionistic style with a vibrant palette of yellow and gold tones. A red cursive signature reading Gidden is located at the lower center-left. The work is presented in a mid-century modern wooden frame with a linen-covered mat and a twisted metal hanging wire. 9 x 19 inches; 17 1/4 x 27 1/2 inches (frame). The painting is in very good condition with no visible flaking or paint loss. The surface shows a light layer of dust. The linen mat is clean with minor age-related toning. The wooden frame is sound with minor surface scuffs.
