This Japanese ceramic kayoi-tokkuri sake bottle features hand-thrown stoneware construction with a cream glaze. The body is decorated with large, stylized calligraphic characters in dark brown iron oxide and iron-red pigments. An unglazedbase reveals a recessed foot, while the surface displays characteristic production pitting and glaze crawling. 10 1/4 inches tall.The bottle is in good antique condition with a prominent kiln scar on the body. The surface exhibits typical production pitting and glaze crawling. Minor staining and scuffing are present on the unglazed base. No structural cracks are visible.
