A pair of tapered quadrangular porcelain vases featuring hand-painted panels of courtly figures in garden settings. The secondary sides and necks display a dense millefleur pattern on a chocolate brown ground. The underside of each base bears a painted iron-red square seal mark reading in seal script. Turquoise floral scrolls decorate the shoulders above ruyi head borders. 14 1/2 inches tall. The vases are in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restorations. Minor surface wear to the enamels is present from handling. Small firing spots are visible on the unglazed foot rims.
