Ukrainian Church Winter Scene & Impasto O/B

This oil on board painting captures a vibrant winter scene featuring an Eastern Orthodox church with characteristic green domes. The composition is rendered in a late-modernist style with heavy impasto and palette knife applications ofwhite paint to represent thick snow clinging to architectural details and tree branches. Bare trees frame the central structure, and small figures in colorful winter clothing are depicted walking through deep blue shadows in the foreground.The work is housed in a substantial gilt-finished molded frame with a stepped profile. The verso of the frame bears a handwritten inscription in red marker that reads 1552 PM. The backing is constructed of corrugated cardboard secured withmetal points. 19 x 16 inches (artwork); 25 x 22 inches (frame).This painting is in good overall condition with some expected minor wear to the frame and paint surface due to its age. The paint surface is stable, showing some surface dust as seen in the primary photographs.
