Black glass dark olive green round mallet / cyllinder shape wine bottle. Unembossed. Sand chip pontiled base. With applied string lip. English. Circa 1760s. This is a transitional shape between that of a true mallet and an early cyllinder. This example was recovered from the York River in Virginia. Condition is water found with surface devitrification and scratching, and there is barnacle residue, but no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 3 7/8 inches wide x 9 1/8 inches tall.
