This collection includes fifteen 1939 issues of the German weekly illustrated magazine Die Woche (The Week), published in Berlin. Each issue measures 13 by 10 inches and displays full-color photographic or illustrated covers with pre-WWII cultural and military themes. Heft 7 from February 15 depicts a female aviator with Türkische Fliegerin (Turkish Pilot) and Türkei, altes Volk, neues Leben (Turkey, Old People, New Life). Heft 9 from March 1 showcases a Japanese samurai doll given to the Fuhrer. Heft 14 from April 5 features a young girl holding flowers. Heft 19 from May 10 marks 100 Jahre Photographie (100 Years of Photography) with Das Wunderauge (The Wonder Eye). Heft 23 from June 7 shows a soldier titled Unseren Spanienhelden! (Our Spanish Heroes!). Heft 26 from June 28 shows Spielkameraden am Strand (Playmates at the Beach). Heft 29 from July 19 displays two cadets with Zwei von hundert tapferen Jungen (Two Out of One Hundred Brave Boys). Heft 34 from August 23 shows Paul von Hindenburg commemorating the Battle of Tannenberg. Heft 35 from August 30 shows a woman in a dirndl with Spätsommerblumen (Late Summer Flowers).
