This optical set, made by Ernst Leitz in Wetzlar, Germany, is a 7x50 "Marsept" model showing production characteristics typical of the pre-WWII to wartime commercial era. The black binoculars feature stamped markings "E. LEITZ WETZLAR" and serial number "487687," along with the designation "7x50 MARSEPT" on the prism end plates. The binoculars measure 7.25 inches high by 7.5 inches wide (18.4 cm H x 19.1 cm W) and weigh 784 grams (1 lb 11.7 oz). The construction includes black end plates, textured grip, smooth hinge action, and individual diopter focus controls. Lenses maintain good clarity with only minor light scratches that do not affect use. Notable refurbishment and cosmetic wear are present, including repaint over chipped texture, repainted eyecups and objective caps, and reworked end plate screws.
