This is a pair of World War I era 6x30 Prism Stereo field glasses manufactured by Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. in Rochester, NY for issue to the U.S. Army Signal Corps, as indicated by deep stampings on the cover plates. The body is wrapped in texturedbrown pebbled covering and features black metal end plates and barrels with signs of old repaint and mild edge wear. Markings include "PRISM STEREO 30mm APERT 6 POWER," the triangular Bausch & Lomb logo, "SIGNAL CORPS U.S. ARMY," and serial number EE108248. The binoculars measure 4.25 inches high by 6.25 inches wide (10.8 cm H x 15.9 cm W) and weigh 743 grams (1 lb 10.2 oz). Functional elements include smooth hinge tension and individual diopter adjustments. The original leather neck strap remains attached. Optical condition is clear with only minor internal dust specks visible.
