ca. 19th century; 1. Dated 1841, McClean-type aqua-tint image of a mystical standing dog figure in red gown and whig holding hand outstretched to the sun. The whimsical "fantasy" figure possibly crafted as an illustration for a circa 1820-1840 era book, standing next to a body of water with a dragonfly on its shoulder and a village in the background, in an old red wash chamfer molded frame, 5 3/4" x 7 1/2", Condition: footing has been cut-down to fit frame, possible artist signature partially cut away. 2. Ink on old rag paper Fraktur drawing for/by "Rebeca -Schofer" (Schaeffer) of a swimming swan, framed in an "Arts and Crafts era" oak wooden frame, Frame 8 1/8" x 6 3/4", Condition: Nice dark stained oak beaded-edge frame. Drawing has a small upper center tear.
