ca. 1830's-1870; Each attributed to an American tin shop, rolled tin sheet and solder constructed with base coat and hand painted decoration: 1. Attributed to one of the "Filley Shops", small size, lidded syrup jug with asphaltum coated ground, three ball fruit/floral design with leaves, Pennsylvania-type trowel shaped hinge mount on lid and mounted strap handle, 3" dia. X 4 1/2" x 4 1/4"h, Condition: original surface, some dulling of hand painted design, minor rust pitting to lid, retains approx. 80% original surface. 2. Black ground beaker with fine painted currant berry decoration on gray painted rim band, yellow painted leaf accents and lower looped band (similar design to Oliver Filley shop, CT), 3 1/4' dia. X 4"H, Condition: some crackling of ground, painted band is excellent, unknown if surface is original or possible excellent 20th century recraft. 3. Red toleware beaker with trailing floral band, 3 1/8" dia. X 3 3/4", Condition: Old applied varnish coated, some crackling to painted surface.
