ca. Early 20th century; Attributed to Northeastern Woodlands tribe (possible Mohegan) large lidded storage basket appears to be pounced willow splint in broad and narrow crossweave construction. The basket is square form with matching original lid, blue painted accent bands and sponge (or potato) print daisy and dots design; 16 1/4" x 17" x 13 1/2"; Condition: some sagging and fading to lid with some lashing loss. Attempt to repair lashing with thin picture wire present.
