ca. Late 19th century; Each attributed to small American factory/craft shop carvers, single piece, lathe turned with a rounded or egg-shaped grip: 1. Attributed to the "Big Leaf Series" shop, stylized fruit/pineapple design with oversized leaves incised and lobed accented, the border chip carved with incised line and knob owner whittled with star design and back of print has owner initials (???), 3 1/2" dia. X 2 7/8", Condition: handle end is owner altered. 2. "Vigilant cow" butter print, attributed to southeastern PA with an egg-shaped handle with carved cow in meadow under bent tree design and border is incised and chip-carved pie crimp design, 3 1/2" dia. X 3", Condition: some rodent chewing to handle top; hairline crack from edge.
