A painted hardwood carving of the ventriloquist dummy Charlie McCarthy complete with top hat and monocle, the original was carved by Theodore Mack in 1922, Charlie was a very popular figure on 1930s & 40s radio, this carving dated 1939, signed on bottom June 1939 in pencil, shrinkage crack on side. 10"H.
