2022 1 Oz South African Silver Krugerrand containing 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver, struck by the South African Mint. The iconic Krugerrand design features a portrait of former South African President Paul Kruger on the obverse and the famous Springbok antelope on the reverse. The coin carries a 1 Rand face value. The Silver Krugerrand was introduced in 2017 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original Gold Krugerrand, which debuted in 1967. The 2022 issue represents the sixth year of the Silver Krugerrand series. The proof version was limited to just 20,000 coins worldwide, while a separate uncirculated bullion version was also produced.
