2000 1 Oz American Silver Eagle containing 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver and carrying a $1 face value backed by the United States government. The obverse features Adolph A. Weinman’s iconic Walking Liberty design, while the reverse showcases John Mercanti’s heraldic eagle design. The 2000 Silver Eagle was struck at the Philadelphia Mint and had a mintage of 9,239,132 coins. It was the second and final year that regular bullion Silver Eagles were produced at Philadelphia before production moved to West Point.
