An assortment of 34 vintage sheet music folios dating from the early 20th-century Tin Pan Alley era, spanning approximately 1900 to 1936. This collection features popular songs, early Hollywood film tie-ins, and Ziegfeld Follies musicalnumbers. Notable publishers include Jerome H. Remick and Co., Leo. Feist Inc., Waterson, Berlin and Snyder Co., T.B. Harms, and G. Schirmer. Featured movie-related pieces include Ramona and Revenge, both dedicated to star Dolores Del Rio;The Red Lantern, as featured in the Nazimova screen production; Mia Cara, starring Maurice Chevalier; and Twilight on the Trail from the Paramount picture The Trail of the Lonesome Pine. Musical theatre and variety selections include Vanand Schenck’s hit All She’d Say Was Um-Hum from the fourteenth edition of the Ziegfeld Follies, and If I’m Dreaming, as sung by Marilyn Miller in the film Sally. Novelty songs include They Start the Victrola (And Go Dancing Around theOverall condition is consistent with age and use. Paper exhibits typical tanning and browning due to wood-pulp content.
