A single hand-painted porcelain bud vase manufactured by Herend, Hungary. The vessel features a bulbous, teardrop-shaped body rising to a slender, flared neck finished with a gilded rim and a narrow gilded band at the base. It is decorated in the Rothschild Bird pattern, characterised by a primary motif of two birds perched on a leafy branch from which a gold chain is suspended. Supplementary decoration includes various butterflies and insects scattered across the white porcelain ground. The base is marked with the blue Herend factory stamp incorporating a crown above a shield and crossed paintbrushes, accompanied by the hand-painted shape number 7052, pattern initials RO, and the numbers 86-8. Dimensions (approx., read from ruler): Height 17.1 cm (6.75 inches). Condition: The vase is in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of restoration. The gilded decoration at the rim and foot remains bright and intact.
