1980s "Grail" GAP and Banana Republic Men's Shir

This vintage men's apparel lot features two late 20th-century long-sleeve cotton button-down shirts: a Gap green and white vertical striped shirt and an early Banana Republic light-wash denim work shirt. This is the famous "Mill Valley, California" travel/safari crest tag used between 1984 and 1988, right after Gap acquired the brand but before they stripped away the original jungle-adventure branding. The mid to late 80s Gap shirt is styled with a classic button-down collar, single open chest pocket, and a box-pleated back yoke (tagged "M", 100% cotton, Made in Hong Kong). The Banana Republic denim shirt features a pointed collar, dual button-flap chest pockets, buttoned cuffs, and an authentic embroidered woven tag reading "BANANA REPUBLIC / MILL VALLEY / CALIFORNIA". Both pieces present in good vintage condition showing typical age-appropriate wear. The Banana Republic shirt exhibits natural fading, fraying along the inner collar edge, and scattered minor spots/stains on the back,while the Gap shirt shows light overall wash wear. All original buttons and maker tags remain present across the lot. The Gap shirt has a length of 30" and Banana Republic shirt at 32" in length, Both have a measure of up to 44" pit-to-pit, and 24"sleeve length. Showcasing quintessential 1980s prep and safari style from classic American brands, this two-piece collection offers great casual wearability and vintage collector appeal.
