From the Early 1980s, this SAMAX New York formal ensemble includes a sleeveless blush-pink full-length dress with a coordinating lace jacket. The dress is labeled size 14 and Made in U.S.A., with an ILGWU union label and RN 21055. It features a square neckline, lace-overlay bodice, gathered skirt, and back zipper. The fitted long-sleeve jacket is constructed of patterned lace with softly gathered shoulders, pale ribbon appliqué, pearl-tone front buttons, a flared peplum, and a coordinating satin waist tie. The ensemble shows wear consistent with age and previous use, including scattered small spots and light discoloration to the skirt, along with minor wear to the lace and ribbon embellishment. The lace remains visually detailed and the major seams and closures appear intact. Best suited for measurements up to 38- 40 in. bust, up to 30 in. waist, and 40 in. hips. An elaborate example of late 20th-century American formalwear, combining romantic lace, ribbonwork, and Victorian-inspired styling in a coordinated occasion ensemble. BP
