Wicker Dome Top Chest With Metal Vine Trim

Dome top storage chest in wicker and metal on four short splayed legs, about 25 inches tall and 21 to 23 inches across. The panels are natural rattan reed woven over round rattan spokes under a heavy amber lacquer, set into a welded metal rod frame. Be aware that the pierced grape leaf and vine ornament on the dome ends, the four corner uprights and the base band is thin pressed sheet metal rather than solid casting, with the same stamping repeated identically on every panel, in an antiqued copper bronze finish. A shield escutcheon and looped clasp closes the lid, with no lock and no key. The interior was never photographed, so the lining condition is unknown and should be checked in person. Condition is fair with several broken protruding weaver ends along the top and left edges, binding lifting at the lid rail, and rub through on the metal. Sold as-is.
