This leather hat is in good condition with light wear, minor scuffs, and natural variations in the leather from use and storage. Features a high rounded crown, broad shaped brim, extensive decorative stitching and openwork, white leather accent band, and long leather fringe detailing along the sides. The interior has leather suspension straps and is handwritten "59," believed to indicate a 59 cm hat size. The hat appears consistent with a Brazilian vaqueiro-style leather hat associated with traditional cattlemen and riders of northeastern Brazil. No maker or country-of-origin marking was found, so exact origin is unknown. Includes a small leather riding whip with braided handle, adjustable leather strap and buckle, and four long leather falls. The whip has some wear from age and use. An attractive piece of South American-style equestrian leatherwork with distinctive decorative construction. See photos for additional detail and condition, and browse the Treasure State Auctions HiBid catalog for other unique vintage and collectible pieces.
