Oil painting on canvas after Young Women Looking at Japanese Articles by French artist Jacques-Joseph James Tissot. The composition depicts two elegantly dressed young women examining Japanese objects within a richly appointed interior, reflecting the fascination with Japanese art and design that swept through European culture during the second half of the 19th century.
