Vibrant oil painting on canvas by Alexander Nikolaevich Glushchenko depicting a street view of Kiev overlooking Bohdan Khmelnytsky Square. Executed in an expressive Post-Impressionist manner, the scene is built with energetic, richly textured brushwork and a vivid palette of autumn orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. Glushchenko captures the architecture, tree-lined streets, passing vehicles, and figures with a loose painterly approach that emphasizes color, movement, and atmosphere. The work reflects the Ukrainian colorist tradition associated with his father, Mykola Glushchenko, while displaying the artist's own vigorous handling of form and composition. Signed lower right and titled on the verso of the frame. Good overall condition. 46" x 36" framed. Alexander Nikolaevich Glushchenko (1938-1999, Ukraine) was a Ukrainian painter and son of celebrated artist Mykola Glushchenko. He studied at the Kyiv State Art Institute and became known for landscapes, urban views, and lyrical scenes characterized by expressive brushwork and strong color. His paintings continue the traditions of postwar Ukrainian Impressionist and colorist painting while demonstrating a distinctly energetic and individual approach.
