Oil painting on wood after Cornelis Springer's The Jewish Quarter, Amsterdam, depicting a bustling 19th-century Amsterdam street scene with figures gathered among richly detailed Dutch architecture. Executed in the tradition of the Dutch Romantic School, the composition features precise architectural detail, warm tonal coloring, and carefully rendered figures that recall Springer's celebrated city views. Artist signed lower right. Professionally presented in an ornate gilt frame. Good overall condition. 30" x 26" framed. Artist Biography: Cornelis Springer (1817-1891, Netherlands) was a prominent Dutch painter renowned for highly detailed architectural cityscapes and street scenes. Trained in Amsterdam, he specialized in views of Dutch towns combining carefully observed architecture with animated figures and atmospheric effects. His work is closely associated with the Dutch Romantic tradition and is represented in major Dutch museum collections.
