Harold Riley (English, 1934-2023) Oil on board, rendered with expressive brushstrokes in a muted palette of greys and blacks, subtly accented with ochre and brown. The dynamic composition captures an urban street scene populated by several figures, including children engaged in play, adults, and two dogs, set against background architecture. Signed in the lower right. Framed. Harold Riley (1934-2023) was an English artist known for his genre scenes and portraits. He notably sold his first painting to the Salford Museum and Art Gallery at the young age of eleven. Riley gained international recognition for his sports imagery, particularly in golf and football, with works held in significant private and public collections worldwide.
