Pavel Tchelitchew (Russian, 1898-1957). This vibrant mixed media on paper features an abstract composition of interlocking geometric and architectural forms. Rich in color, the piece utilizes shades of primary red, deep blue, and bright yellow, contrasted with browns, grays, and black, creating a dynamic, multi-layered space. Signed "P.Tchelitchew 35" in the upper left corner. Unframed. Pavel Tchelitchew (1898-1957) was a notable Russian surrealist painter and scenic designer. Emigrating to Paris and later New York, he became known for his innovative explorations of the human form, often depicting complex psychological states and illustrating themes of homosexual desire.
