Odilon Redon (French, 1840-1916) Graphite drawing on paper depicting a solitary robed figure holding a mask-like head within a mysterious and dreamlike landscape. A second floating face emerges from the dark background, creating an atmosphere of symbolism and psychological ambiguity. Signed lower left "Odilon Redon." Odilon Redon was one of the leading figures of the Symbolist movement, renowned for his visionary imagery, enigmatic figures, and poetic explorations of dreams, imagination, and the subconscious.
