This German doll features a socket head produced by Simon & Halbig for Kämmer & Reinhardt. The head is incised with the registered design mark Dep. S. 195 on the reverse of the neck. Facial decoration includes multi-stroke feathered eyebrows, painted lower lashes, a dimpled chin, and brown glass sleep eyes with intact mohair lashes. The open mouth reveals four porcelain upper teeth. The doll wears a blonde mohair wig styled in ringlets with a green satin ribbon. The body is constructed of cream-colored kid leather with gusseted joints and metal rivet-jointed articulation at the elbows, hips, and knees. It is distinguished by its bisque lower limbs, including detailed forearms and hands, and lower legs with painted toenails. A handwritten tag accompanies the doll, identifying it as previously being part of the Ralph Alice Kramer collection. The doll is outfitted in a white cotton lawn dress with green dots, green ribbon interlacing, and lace-trimmed collar and cuffs. The attire is completed with white crocheted socks and dark green velvet slippers. Height: 22 inches. This doll displays expected age-related toning and minor spotting to the kid leather body. The bisque head and lower limbs remain in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The sleep eye mechanism is functional, and the clothing is well-preserved and clean.
