Large Antique Parian Head Doll, Original Body

A 26-inch antique Parian bisque shoulder head doll featuring a molded blonde hairstyle with a center part and tight curls. The doll is designed with fixed painted blue eyes, finely painted lashes, and a cloth body. It is dressed in a red wool double-breasted jacket with six black buttons, a white cotton long-sleeved shirt, and black fabric trousers. The clothing and brown leather lace-up boots are sewn onto the doll. The lower legs are cloth with printed red horizontal stripes to simulate stockings. On the reverse of the bisque shoulder plate, there are handwritten characters in a dark pigment reading # 36 and an incised digit 0. The doll is mounted on a modern wooden stand with an adhesive label reading The Bearington Collection. Height: 26 inches. This doll displays expected age-related wear including a crack to the back of the bisque shoulder plate and deterioration to the leather hands and lower arms exposing the internal hair stuffing. The original body and clothing exhibit general age-toning and light staining consistent with the doll's history.shoes are newer and sewn in place.
