1924-D Standing Liberty Quarter, struck at the Denver Mint. This classic early 20th-century silver quarter is a desirable date-and-mint issue from the Standing Liberty series. Please review the photos for the exact condition, surfaces, strike, and overall appearance. The Standing Liberty Quarter was designed by sculptor Hermon A. MacNeil and was produced from 1916 through 1930. The obverse features Liberty standing with a shield and olive branch, while the reverse depicts an eagle in flight. The 1924-D had a mintage of only 6,440,000 coins, making it considerably scarcer than the Philadelphia issue. The “D” mint mark appears on the reverse, below the eagle. As with many early Standing Liberty Quarters, surviving examples can show significant wear, particularly on Liberty's head and the eagle's breast.
