1883 Silver Hawaii Dollar certified by NCS as AU Details. Struck for the Kingdom of Hawaii during the reign of King Kalakaua I, this historic silver dollar features the king's portrait on the obverse and the Hawaiian coat of arms on the reverse. Issued in 1883 and struck by the U.S. Mint to the same weight and fineness as the U.S. silver dollar, these coins circulated for only a short time before many were withdrawn and melted following Hawaii's annexation by the United States. This lightly circulated example offers outstanding historical appeal and is a highly collectible piece of Hawaiian and world numismatic history.
