A charming figural desk accessory modeled as a finely textured feather supporting a small sculptural owl perched at one end beside an elongated rod-form pen rest, the feather rendered with closely incised barbs, irregular notched edges, and a pronounced central quill. The owl is detailed with layered plumage, prominent ear tufts, articulated talons, and striking inset yellow-and-black eyes that lend the piece an animated expression. Raised on four small ball feet, this substantial cast-metal composition follows a late 19th-century European owl-and-feather pen-rest design frequently reproduced in the 20th century; no maker’s mark is visible in the photographs, so the precise age and origin remain undetermined. Displays an aged dark gray patina with surface oxidation, rubbing, scattered discoloration, minor casting irregularities, and general wear consistent with use, while the feather edges show small nicks and slight unevenness; the owl and supporting components appear intact.
