Signed contemporary oil on canvas by C. Laroche, executed in the manner of Pierre-Auguste Renoir and inspired by his celebrated work Young Girls at the Piano. The composition depicts two young girls seated together on a cushioned bench, one affectionately kissing the other on the cheek, with a doll resting nearby, capturing the warmth and tenderness characteristic of Renoir’s intimate domestic scenes. Rendered with soft modeling, rich coloration, and expressive brushwork, the painting is presented in a distinctive molded frame decorated with stylized relief motifs reminiscent of ancient Egyptian imagery, creating an eye-catching contrast to the Impressionist-inspired subject. Signed lower right. The painting displays well overall, while the frame shows scattered scuffs, scratches, small nicks, corner wear, and with some loss to the lower right corner, along with additional light handling wear consistent with age and use.
