This oil painting on textured hardboard depicts a stone building, likely a chapel or lodge, characterized by its steep-pitched roof and slender belfry. The work is executed in a Post-Impressionist style, utilizing thick, blocky brushwork to define the forms of mature trees and garden foliage in a muted, earthy palette. While the front of the painting is unsigned, the lower left wooden member on the verso of the frame is inscribed L. JENNEKENS. This attribution corresponds to the style of Dutch artist Leo Jennekens (1891–1976). The painting is housed in an aged, cream-colored stepped wooden frame with a textured finish. The verso reveals a textured board support with remnants of a brown paper backing and a small, illegible label at the bottom center. Dimensions (frame): approx. 19 in x 23.5 in. Condition: The painting exhibits pronounced craquelure across the entire paint surface.
