An assortment of four vintage cameo brooches featuring a variety of materials and settings. The collection includes two hand-carved carnelian shell cameos and two costume jewelry pieces. One shell cameo depicts a right-facing profile of a woman with an elaborate hairstyle, set in a silver frame with a scalloped edge and rope-twist inner border, stamped SILVER and WBS on the reverse. A second shell cameo features a left-facing profile housed in an 800 silver frame with engraved foliate detailing, stamped 800 on the frame edge. The costume jewelry examples include a large brooch with a molded cream-colored relief against a black ground in a gold-tone openwork twisted rope frame, and a smaller brooch with a molded cream relief against a reddish-brown ground in an ornate gold-tone scroll frame. All brooches are fitted with horizontal pin backs and safety clasps. Dimensions (measured against a tape measure shown in inches): Top Left: Height approx. 3.8 cm (1.5 inches) Top Right: Height approx. 4.4 cm (1.75 inches) Bottom Left: Height approx. 5.7 cm (2.25 inches) Bottom Right: Height approx. 3.8 cm (1.5 inches). Condition: The brooches are in good vintage condition. The shell cameos exhibit natural color variations and internal growth lines typical of the material. Minor surface wear, light scratches, and tarnish consistent with age are visible on the silver and gold-tone metal settings. All pin mechanisms are intact and functional.
