A hand-knotted Persian Nain area rug featuring a central lobed medallion on an ivory field. The field is decorated with intricate floral arabesque vine-scrolls and Shah Abbasi motifs. The design includes a wide salmon-pink main border withrepeating floral sprays, bordered by navy blue guard borders. The pile is wool with silk highlights used to outline the floral motifs, woven on a cotton foundation. The reverse features a woven Persian script signature translating to IranNain. 7 feet 4 inches long by 4 feet 7 inches wide.This rug has mostly expected light wear due to age and use. It remains in overall nice condition with fringes intact and ends turned up from being kept rolled.
